stuff no one told me

Just found this blog and thought that it was such a lovely idea that I just had to share it with you- to see more click on the above picture!
Things have been very hectic recently, I've been applying to Universities and Dance Schools, doing coursework and currently undertaking a set of mock exams. However, I have had a couple of really exciting moments! First of all, I have got a work experience placement with Matthew Bourne's New Adventures in January! I'm really excited, because I really am an avid fan of his, and I love all of his work. Also, I auditioned for the new National Youth Dance Company run by Sadler's Wells last Sunday, so we'll see how that goes and if I get through to the next round!

you so cute

sourced right here
I stumbled across these cute photographs of the Washington Ballet by Cade Martin. As a complete dance fanatic, but also a lover of romantic and 'pretty things' I thought this was something that I simply had to blog about!

nothing wrong with a bit of cheese

So, tomorrow I'm heading off on a little trip to London and Leeds to visit some dance schools, and do some mock auditions. I'm really excited to go away with my friends, and it's making next year feel even closer!! Here's a little smiley photo from last year to hopefully make you feel as happy as my mustard coloured coat! x

straight out of a children's book

Here is a cheeky little snap shot from my friend's 18th party the other day. We had to come dressed up as anything A themed, so I thought I'd jump out of one of my childhood memories and come as Anne from the Famous Five, I even made a little badge.

This is one of my drawings and edits for my A2 Personal study. I've been looking at expression and faces and this is my favourite one of my lovely lovely friend Jojo. I hope you like!

would you like to hear the story of my life?

Here's a cute little photograph of my friends and I hanging upside down smiling for you! I was planning to take photographs for my art, but it kinda progressed into a casual mess around in front of the camera!
Most of my days are spent reading, doing coursework, dancing, meeting up with friends, drinking a lot of tea and watching TV. Planning to do a list of every book recently, so expect that soon (there are some real page-turners)

a d d i c t e d .

I don't own this photograph!
Hi Guys,
So yesterday I went out with my friends for a cheeky little Nandos and to watch the breathtaking 'Perks Of Being A Wallflower'. But first of all let me share my happiness at being able to eat at Nandos for only £2.15. No word of a lie. Using my points card with which I had amassed a free 1/4 of a chicken (which is a lot more than you think!) a regular side of chips and a glass of water, I was dining for just over £2.
How can I begin to explain 'Perks Of Being A Wallflower'? It made me laugh, cry, crush on Charlie (Logan Leerman) and feel envious of Sam (Emma Watson). The storyline although devastating totally drove the film, and had me hooked at every single minute. I haven't read the book, and let me assure you it is right on the top of my 'to read' pile. I highly recommend it!!!

the things that matter

I saw this on Facebook and thought it was such a lovely ideology that I would share it with you all. I do not own this by the way, hence the quotations marks!

"When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the 2 Beers.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, he wordlessly picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full.. The students responded with a unanimous 'yes.'

The professor then produced two Beers from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed..

'Now,' said the professor as the laughter subsided, 'I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things---your family, your children, your health, your friends and your favorite passions---and if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house and your car.. The sand is everything else---the small stuff.

'If you put the sand into the jar first,' he continued, 'there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life.

If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff you will never have room for the things that are important to you.

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.

Spend time with your children. Spend time with your parents. Visit with grandparents. Take your spouse out to dinner. Play another 18. There will always be time to clean the house and mow the lawn.

Take care of the golf balls first---the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the Beer represented. The professor smiled and said, 'I'm glad you asked.' The Beer just shows you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of Beers with a friend."

words cannot explain

I love music. I love dancing to music. I love just sitting and listening to music, and on most days when I'm listening to music I imagine it being a soundtrack to my life.
Words cannot explain how excited I am to go and see Of Monsters And Men in March. Here is my favourite song from their album: From Finner :)

been busy pinning

Hi there guys, sorry I've been a little absent I've had some pretty full on work at the moment. Anyway, here is some of my favourite pins of the week!

people can be so mean

I don't know what's going on, but things aren't going that well for my friendship group and myself in particular. You see my friendship group of six has split up into a two and a three and then I am caught somewhere in the middle. What do I do, I'm trying to be neutral, but this is difficult when one group is talking about the other and so on! Gaaahhhhhh!

everybody look at my beautiful pen pal

I really don't need to say a lot in this post. This is my beautiful Greek pen pal's blog, and all you need to do is click on the picture and visit it.

things have a funny way of occurring

As you probably know already I'm doing my A2 Personal Study around Greek Gods and Goddesses, so when I was just casually browsing on Pinterest I found a figurative artist who I kinda liked and thought I would just check out to use an additional artist reference. So I researched Jylian Gustlin, and low and behold she'd done a whole series of work inspired by mythology. Fate.

flattery and polka dots seem to go well together

Things have been going well recently. I just got back off tour with the U.Dance Ensemble in Wales so that's why I haven't been posting recently. Also, I have been asked to join a local youth dance company, but I am unable to get there due to other dance lessons, but it's nice to know that people want me!

I'm back to school tomorrow, and so back to real life in a sense. I've been avidly working on my art personal study, and discovered a ton of books on Greek Mythology, so I happily checked them out :)
I'm also working on a new dance for a variety performance at The Theatre Royal in Bury St Edmunds at 3pm on 14th October. So, if you are in the local vicinity make sure you turn up- it's for a good cause too! Trying to save a local theatre for the community!

my lazy day get up

So I've been watching The Lion King triology on VHS and it struck me that there are many things that I like and dislike about videos.
Here's my latest Lookbook post.

1. You don't have to keep pressing play, or choosing language it's just go go go
2. But you do have to rewind when you get to the end
3. All the Disney classics on video take me right back to my childhood
4. They have a nostalgic vintage quality
5. Yet, they are a far cry from HD and 3D
But, I still love them.
So these are the beautiful classics I have watched so far:
- Alice in Wonderland
- Cinderella
- Sleeping Beauty
- The Little Mermaid
- Robin Hood
- The Aristocats
- Beauty and the Beast
- Tarzan
- 101 Dalmations
- The Lion King
- The Lion King 2
- The Lion King 3
- Pocahontis
I know it looks and sounds like a lot, but I promise I have been doing other things at the same time. Hence, I shall hopefully be uploading some of my artwork over the holiday soon :)

They told me to be smart and casual

I've spending my days doing some casual art coursework, reading and watching old Disney videos. At this very moment in time I have Cinderella on in the background. I am such a child at heart. Yet after all "A dream is a wish your heart makes".
New lookbook post below :)

Girl's Best Friend

Today's Lookbook post :)

I can hear the wind in the trees

Hello all,
Just a little outfit post for you. My brother got his GCSE results today and I am pleased to report that he did very well.
It's really naughty, but I rarely eat breakfast during the holidays, or rather I don't really eat during the holidays- I just drink tons of tea. I'm not sure why! Yet, today I enjoyed a bowl of granola and a cuppa whilst listening to lovely BBC Radio 1.
I hope you all have a lovely day!

Hi everyone!

The White Rabbit

Last night I really couldn't sleep. It got to about three o'clock and I was still awake, just finished Beowulf which is one of my English Literature A2 set texts and starting reading a brand new novel Jeffrey Eugenides' 'The Virgin Suicides'. I had also changed some of the stuff on here, done tons of link surfing on pinterest, emailed my pen pal and connected with my friends on twitter. So really I achieved quite a lot.
I'm actually really excited, because I've got loads of blog posts lined up, some just in my head, some a little bit more tactile, so I really won't be neglecting! Sad and happy news, however, next week I go on tour!! Yes, I'm so exciting, I'm actually bursting. Nevertheless, this does mean that I probably won't be able to post :(
This morning after admittedly only a couple of hours sleep I was woken up by our black labrador bouncing pretty much on my head. Gaah I was not impressed. Yet, after my morning cuppa, checking my emails I decided to do a spot of editing and here I am. I think I posted this look a little while ago on this here blog, but I did a little editing, added a vintage effect and much prefer it. I hope you like it.

OOTD sounds funny

I realised that it has been a while since I posted an outfit post, so here is what I'm wearing today, you can't see my feet, because I'm not wearing any shoes, hehe. If you're on LookBook go ahead and give a hype. Many Thanks xo

praise thee lord

Hi there!!
I love coffee, I love going to cute little cafes and drinking coffee, having a catch up and eating cute little cakes. So ever since I signed up to be a part of Costa Coffee Club it has been my new obsession. And guess what!!
I have enough points to purchase one free latte!! Omg, lattes are my favour hot drink ever! It probably partly stems from when I was younger my Nana used to make me super milky coffee which I would drink through a straw (I no longer use a straw) so I guess it brings back memories!! My favourite cold drink has to be Costa's Pink Grapefruit Lemonade, kinda like an ice tea. Although I am a sucker for any frappuccino (not sure on the spelling) from Starbucks, or cooler from Costa. What are your favourite types of drinks?

A Good Start?

Here's a little story I wrote. I think originally I intended it to be the opening of a novel, but anyway hope you enjoy:

Girls are incredibly sensitive, perhaps a little na├»ve in some cases and riddled with so many individual insecurities that they deserve an independent survey of their own. Every girl puts on a front, a wall if you like, in which they pretend is made of concrete and is so impenetrable that it’s not even worth trying to think about breaking it down. But you can nearly always break it down. Like breaking an egg shell inside is something vulnerable and completely dependent on the shield to survive. This is what a girl is like.
She craves attention... especially from you. Every time she sees you she holds her breath, she savours the conversations and when you touch her she shakes. She goes to sleep every night with a greedy smile plastered across her place, desperate that you’ll star in her dream. As dreams are wonderful things, places where even if it is not real or even pragmatic she can be close to you, to have you all to herself.
And what tactics does she have? She likes the chase, she often uses the ‘treat them mean to keep them keen’ phrase in which teasing is a frequent player. But she gets nervous, and plays out situations in her head how she’d ideally love them to go, but they never do. You never quite say the thing that she wants you to say. She wants you to be the guy that she always wanted you to be, the one in which she took you and moulded you into the all rounder, the ultimate guy. She wants a friendship as well as an relationship, she wants to do normal things and not feel the pressure. But she needs space to spend time with others. Although she loves you, like most things if you have too much at once it’s overwhelming, you just need to stand back and observe- what you have is great, don’t ruin it.
She wants to be loved, accepted for who she really is. She wants to just stand in your arms and not be able to say anything, but you still understand each other. She wants a love life that is constantly spontaneous and so hot that if she is not carefully she’s gonna burn herself. She wants to be so overcome with lust that she loses control of her inhibitions and is racked with such want of you that she just wants to feel your kiss on her neck, you arms draped around her shoulders, her body pressing against yours, so close that you almost become one.
That is what I believe a girl wants.

Going Greek

As you probably already know I am planning to do my Art Personal Study based on the Ancient Greeks, so I set up a little photoshoot with my friends. I really enjoyed doing all the styling (hair, make up and clothes) as well as taking the photographs and positions. I have edited these photographs mind, my style of photography is simply point and shoot, so I would be mega impressed with myself if I could produce these without help!
Please do not use these photographs, they are my own.

'n' wot?!

These are my favourite picks from Pinterest this week. I really have become quite obsessed with it. I love how you can amalgamate all sorts of different things on to one virtual pin board- quite inspiring really.
I've been avidly watching the Olympics, and have to say my favourite event so far was the synchronised swimming. I thought both Russia and China's group pieces were spectacular and resulted in a first and second place respectively.

I am absolutely obsessed with Pinterest. I guess it has a similar format twitter with the following and all, but I love it!! If you haven't already signed up (or requested an invitation) then I suggest you do it right now. I intend to create a little favourite pins of the week post for y'all, so this is my beginning of that idea.
